Library FAQ

Who can get one?

Pender County Library cards are free to Pender County residents, property owners, and persons employed in Pender county. Free library cards are also available to residents of Duplin, Sampson, Bladen, and Columbus counties; cards are available to all others for $25 per year. There is a $3.00 replacement charge for lost or damaged cards.

Each applicant must provide identification and proof of mailing address. Children under age 18 are encouraged to get a library card; we require the signature of an adult who will be financially responsible for all materials borrowed. The responsible adult must accept responsibility for the child's use of the library, help the child abide by its rules, and pay fines charged to the child's account. As a new customer, you will be limited to checking out two items on your first visit.
